Commemorating Veda Vyasa and his efforts on Guru Poornima is the purpose of Hindus, whereas the Buddhists believe that the first sermon was delivered by Lord Buddha on this very day. Guru Purnima, the birth anniversary of Veda Vyasa is celebrated once in a year. It is the day that is awaited by many gurus, disciples and the followers of righteousness.
